Chapter 24
Tears streamed down Madison’s face as her eyes glared blindly toward Nathan. Madison pulled her hands out of Nathan’s, bit by bit. The tears were much, some found its way into her mouth. Madison could taste the saline liquid in her mouth as she struggled to speak.
“You said what?” she was finally able to muster the strength to say a thing.
Nathan remained silent, his face begging with guilt. He must have felt bad for hiding the truth from Madison. He tried to touch her, but she pulled away.
“Do not touch me,” Madison said, sobbing silently.
“I’m so sorry, Maddie,” Nathan said, still trying to touch her, but she refused again.
“You watched me confess my feelings for you,” Madison said in a whimpering voice. “You made a mockery of my love,” she continued.
“I’m very sorry, Maddie.”
By this time, Madison was moving away from him. She felt disgusted by his presence and wished she never developed those feelings for him.
