Chapter 51
Madison was still ignoring Nathan. She would have long left the house if it wasn’t for the kids. She sat alone at the table in an almost empty house, almost void of humans except her. Max and Mark had gone to school, and she wasn’t in the best mood to be at the office that day.
She was in the company of a short glass of whisky. There was the presence of eye bags to show she had little to no sleep the previous nights. Silence, every sob she made echoed.
She saw Nathan drive in. He was back very early that day. Nathan wanted to sort things out with Madison. He tried explaining that the clip she saw was an old clip, but she doubted him—everyone did.
“Maddie, hold on, Maddie,” Nathan said as he hurried to stop her from locking herself in the room again.
“Maddie, come on, let us talk about this like two grown adults.” He caught up and said to her.
