Chapter 30
Lucy stood in the middle of the living room by herself, staring at all the bottles of alcohol that Cage had consumed. He must be hurt, he only ever drinks when he is hurt.
“Why am I feeling this way?” Lucy sniffed, her tears falling freely down her cheeks.
The divorce was near and the thought of it was weighing her down. This was what she wanted, right? A divorce! She wanted to part ways with Cage. It was her well-thought-out decision so why does it feel wrong now? She was suddenly overwhelmed with guilt and decided to go check on Cage.
Lucy knocked twice before pushing the door open. She met Cage putting his towel around his waist and combing through his hair with his fingers. She cleared her throat to inform him that she was there but he already knew.
“What do you want?”
“I wanted to know if I should bring you... um.. hangover soup. Your head must hurt.” Lucy couldn't help but stutter. She fiddled with her fingers, Cage had his back turned on her.
