Chapter 78

Scarlett’s POV

Gage looks up to me and Jane wails in relief at my presence. The men look between us in confusion and the man with Jane turns her to his front so he can get a better view of her face.

“Holy shit!” He exclaims, letting Jane go in a harsh way.

“There’s two of her!”

“What do we do? Which one did the boss ask for?”

I smirk as they’re thrown into confusion, trying to decipher Jane and I. I use the opportunity to lead Gage off the road and Jane takes tow. However, we aren’t able to make it far before they begin shooting in the air and we’re rounded again.

“Not very smart a move.” The leader of the operation says as he grabs me by the hair.

“If the boss asked for a lady, we get him two ladies. Double pay.” He tells his men and they drag Jane and I towards their car.
