Scarlett’s POV

“You guys should stop this. Having an argument in the middle of this situation doesn’t seem a little too much of a luxury to you?” Jane butts in and Amanda chuckles.

“Gage does love to make a mission all about his skills. He’s a proud man. And besides, he’s been a lone agent for years. He’ll get used to having you around.” Amanda comments and I don’t feel any motivation in her words.

“It’s just annoying the way he feels that I can’t help myself. I’m a grown woman you know.” I pout and his hand massages my thigh.

“I can’t help but think you can’t, given the circumstances at which we met. I’m sorry.” He apologizes and I rub his hand that massages my thigh.

“It’s okay. I’m sorry I didn’t wait for you to wake up before leaving. I promise it won’t happen again.”

Jane giggles beside me and I turn to glare at her.

“What? That was the funniest make up ever.” She defense herself and I rest my head on Gage’s chest.
