Chapter 15. Promises

Trevor had just arrived at Sandra’s condo unit, and when Savannah saw him, she immediately ran to him and hugged him tightly. “Take me… take me to my Lolo and Lola, please…” she cried on his shoulder. He wrapped his arms around her and lightly tapped her head as she cried.

“I’m sorry… I’m sorry for crying… I… I just needed to let it out before going there…” she sniffed. “I don’t want Lolo to see me like this… he… he will become weaker if he sees me in this state…”

“We’ll come with you,” Sandra said, putting her sling bag on her shoulder and grabbing Shirley’s hand. However, Shirley immediately dropped her hand and told her, “Sands, we have to finish your project… it’s due tomorrow!”

“Don’t worry, Sands. I’ll take Sav there as fast as I can… and I’ll keep you updated on what’s happening.” Trevor rubbed Sandra’s back while still hugging Savannah, who hadn’t stopped crying.

“You’ll update us, Trev, okay?” Sandra pointed her finger at Trevor, who nodded.
