Chapter 45

The door of the room opens and Naomi and Chad walk in.

I share the good news with him without trying to tip Naomi off.

“Remember the issue you have in London?” I ask him and he takes a few seconds before he catches on.

“Yeah..sure.” He says and I smile.

“Well, Robert here will take care of it by tomorrow,” I tell him and he looks at Robert to confirm it.

Robert nods with a soft smile and Chad begins to tear up. His eyes are watery and he looks like he is going to full on cry.

Robert wakes up from the bed and holds him by the shoulders and leads him out of the room, leaving Naomi and I alone.

“I have no idea what just happened.” She says with a nervous laugh.

And that is the point.

“So you took him out, huh?” Naomi asks and I can tell who she is referring to.

She is talking about Patrick Sans.

“Yup.” I say, popping the ‘p’.

“I must say, I am impressed. It’s all over the news and the Lieutenant is livid.” She says
