It doesn’t feel right with him. Maybe we were just meant to be friends.
And that’s okay.

“Oh, thanks, man. And look.” Wesley calls for Zach’s attention.
Zach looks up from his yellow notebook with enquiring eyes. “Yeah?”
“Check your messages. I have double-texted you, man. It’s about the party at Zoe’s.” Wesley says to him.
Party? Well, that’s a surprise.
“Oh shoot. For sure man, I don’t check my messages often,” He replies.
“Yeah, obviously,” Wesley says with humor in his tone.
“What party?” I ask loudly.
Zach and Wesley share a look. But Zach quickly turns his attention back to his notebook. He’s avoiding answering the question.
“You’re having a party at Zoe’s?” I ask. He can’t be serious. I don’t have anything against Zoe, she’s his girlfriend; I like her! But why is he keeping the party a secret?
“Well, yeah.” Wesley sits on the arm of one of the chairs and I do the same with the chair opposite him
