Chapter 43
“Goodnight, Mom,” I say. “After you.” I gesture for her to lead the way.
She walks in front as I follow her. We part ways in the hallway. She goes to her room and I go to mine.

It is now morning and I feel well rested. The sun is beaming through my silk curtains and the birds are busy chirping away.
A light breeze blow from my half-opened window, causing the curtains to lift at a slow, balanced pace.
I look over at the blue clock on my wall and it says 9:25 AM. Holy crap! I’m going to be late for school.
I jump out of bed with a fastness I never knew I had. I have to shower, brush my teeth, and find something to wear—Gosh, there’s so much to do in little to no time!
That’s when it hits me. I have no in-person class anymore! My racing heart calms instantly and a wide smile corrupts my mouth.
I’m sure Mom has already gone to work, so I basically have the house all to myself. I wonder what Wesley is doing. He’s probably still
