“You’re smart; think, Rose.” He says.

I start to think but nothing comes to mind.

“The texts, Rose. The texts, I sent them.” He says in a chillingly calm tone.

The texts came from an unknown number. Of course! The ones that were all poetic, talking about dancing with the devil.

“But-“ I try to say but I don’t really know what to say. My thoughts are all jumbled.

“Slow down, Rose. Don’t overthink, I will explain it all when we arrive.” He says.

“Arrive? Where the hell are you taking me?!” My anger begins to rise.

“Feisty.” The officer laughs and my mind instantly goes to when Sterling beat up that guy. It was the exact word he said to me before Sterling snapped.

The car comes to a stop and the officer steps out. I look out the window and I can see a field almost like a golf course. I also see a huge cabin not far away.

The door of the car opens and the officer helps me out. He looks tired.

“W
