Chapter 46

“Call my lawyer, Lizzie. Call my lawyer right now!” Sterling says while the officer drags him away.

The other officer is being gentle with me. “Turn around.” He says and I do so. He places the cold metal on my wrists and tears begin to fall freely from my eyes.

“Hello? Harry? Oh my god, Harry! Sterling is being arrested!” I hear Lizzie say anxiously. She’s talking on the phone, it’s probably Sterling’s lawyer.

The officer is gently leading me to the elevator through the corridor. The other neighbors are out of their rooms and staring. I see a few people talking on the phone.

“Hey! What did she do?” I hear a man ask. He’s Jake and he lives right next door. This is the top floor.

“Go back into your room, buddy.” The officer taking me say.

“I’m calling the authorities,” Jake says as he follows us.

“We are the authorities.” The officer who took me chuckles. He has a tattoo of a small butterfly on his neck.
