“No, no, no. You don’t speak to me that way, Rosie.” He says and I feel my jaw tighten. Anger flows through my entire mind and the only thing I want to do right now is to hurt him really bad.

“Don’t call me that,” I say and Jason laughs.

“I can call you whatever I want to.” His voice is confident.

It is pretty quiet now and the only sound that can be heard is the chirping of the birds.

I hear Griffin curse something under his breath.

Jason stands up slowly and closes his jacket. He smiles a very creepy smile and then snaps his fingers, clearly drawing Griffin’s attention.

“Take care of her.” He says to Griffin without looking at him. He’s looking directly at me, and his whole demeanor is icy. I can’t quite explain it, but it’s like he doesn’t have a soul.
