Chapter 61

“We’re reaching the junction, slow down,” I say to Lizzie as I focus on the dirt path that is getting closer and closer to the actual road.

She does not decrease the speed though, if anything, she steps on the gas and I feel the force of gravity pull me tightly to my seat.

“Lizzie! Slow down or we are going to crash!” I yell when we are only seconds away from the main road.

As soon the tires reach the main road, Lizzie makes an insane turn on the wheel and I yell out of shock and fear.

Everything else goes by in a blur, but at the same time, it’s all in slow motion, as if everything is beyond reach.

The tires make a screeching sound that is almost deafening and I catch a glimpse of Lizzie within the chaos. She looks determined and motivated.

I then shut my eyes briefly but then reopened them.

The car sways between the two lanes of the main road and I couldn’t be more glad that I always wear my seatbelt.

Lizzie then hit
