Chapter 21

Well, this is interesting.

Chad looks at me and I shrug.

Soon, the car carrying us parks right next to the other cars. Then the silver car behind us parks next to us also.

Chad is the first to get out of the car, followed by me.

We both watch as the two ladies step down from the silver SUV.

“Mom, Gwen, you guys made it!” I hear a voice say excitingly.

I look towards the source and I see Robert walking towards us.

“I couldn’t miss this for the world.” He says and they both walk towards each other and hug.

His mother sure has good taste in clothing. The dress she is wearing is to be envied.

Robert then hugs his sister, and they both share a short conversation that ends with her rolling her eyes.

Chad and I stand and watch everything happen in fascination. I’m beginning to regret coming here, I feel so out of place.

“Jen!” Robert’s voice interrupts me from my thoughts.

He eyes my body from head to toe, and he smirks.
