Chapter 65. Fooled... Again

“Why… why are you here?”, she asked as her eyes trailed back to Darren Leister, “were you here before Senior Brock’s childhood friend?”

“Jane…”, Brock called out to her but was cut off.

“Please Senior Brock, I am currently speaking to Senior Darren,” she threw a sharp glance at Brock Davenport who could only bend his head in guilt.

“Is his childhood friend still in there?”, she brushed past both of them when none gave her an answer.

“Jane, wait…,” Darren reached out to try and stop her but she evaded him and threw him a withering look that kept him in place and his mouth shut.

She continued to the door of the guest bedroom and Brock and Darren gave each other glances before turning back to watch as she swung the door open.

After scanning the room and confirming her suspicions that she had so desperately wanted to deny, she went back to both of them and stared them down with a hard look.
