Chapter 24
Alessa could not sleep because of Elijah’s kiss and text message last night. Her head hurt a bit because no matter how she closed her eyes and turned on the bed, Alessa’s spirit remained awake.
“Alessa, didn’t you sleep well last night? Is there something wrong?” asked her mother when she noticed that she seemed like an idiot. They were in the kitchen.
She avoided looking. “I’m fine, mom.”
Elijah entered the kitchen just in time to get a drink. Their eyes met. He smiled at her, but she ignored him. Because Alessa didn’t believe in the fact that he would court her. It was like Elijah was tripping her again.
“Are you sure? It looks like you didn’t sleep last night!” her mother said.
“Who didn’t sleep?” Elijah asked, seemingly malicious.
Alessa narrowed her eyes at him, but the young man only responded with a wink. Alessa’s eyes widened because of what Elijah did.
