Chapter 31
Alessa was in the garden with Elijah that morning. The young man was feeling bad because his head was throbbing slightly and he hadn’t slept yet.
“Would you like something to eat?” Alessa asked while sitting next to Elijah.
He shook its head. “I’m fine with Aunt Alicia’s porridge.
She smiled. “How’s your head? Does it still hurt?” Her concern was visible on her face.
“A little,” he said, then leaned his head on her shoulder.
Alessa looked at the sky. Their place was full, so even if there was sun, they didn’t feel hot and the air that touched their skin was fresh.
She wanted to talk to him about Maegan, but she was afraid that his mood might change and he might get angry again. In the past few days, he had gotten into the habit of it. Elijah easily got hot-headed whenever things connected to his ex-girlfriend were discussed.
