Chapter 61. The Warmth of Love

Sevi hurried back into the home, his mind racing from his talk with the man outside. He took a deep breath and let the weight of the world fall off his shoulders as he closed the front door behind him. He knew he'd made the proper choice, and it was now time to focus on what really important to him. 

The only sound accompanying his walk in the dimly lit hallway was the quiet creaking of the wooden floorboards beneath his feet. He eased the door open softly as he approached the bedroom, not wanting to wake Mika. He understood she needed her sleep and didn't want to disturb her. 

Mika was sleeping quietly, her chest rising and falling steadily. The moonlight filtered through the drapes, throwing a beautiful shine on her serene expression. As he watched her, Sevi couldn't help but smile, his heart flooding with love and affection. This woman, laying before him, was his entire universe. 

He approached the bed slowly, taking care not to make any unexpecte
