Conrad's POV
Harper Brownie, daughter of one of the most famous international businessmen. I met him at one of my father's meetings; they always got along well publicly, but personally, they ignored each other or brushed each other off. I never asked my father why he didn't get along with him; it didn't seem relevant to me, but I was curious why that man always wanted my mother to have dinner with him. Perhaps Dad was afraid of someone stealing the love of his life.
The men in our family have always pretended not to be possessive, but deep down, they love taking care of what is theirs. My mother was never a woman to pay attention to other men; she was always focused on Dad, how he felt, or what he needed. She was always the perfect woman for him.
