Chapter 117. The Center of Attention
Catherine’s POV
Grey steered us deeper into the crowd, his movements so flawless that it felt like I was floating. His rain in the forest scent was calming my stiff body posture, and the rain was washing away all my worries.
“You know that we will do everything in our power to keep you safe?” Grey suddenly asked.
“Yes,” I said, lifting my gaze to search for his. Grey looked so handsome tonight that it was hard to keep my hands to myself, and he occupied my thoughts while we were dancing.
“Promise me you will not freak out.” He asked. His calm composure had suddenly turned back to its stiff and cold self.
Something had changed. Something was wrong.
