Catherine’s POV

“Hi Kate,” Leah’s soft, shy voice grabbed my attention, and I turned my head, looking for her in the crowd.

When I didn’t see her, I narrowed my eyes, confused. I was sure I just heard Leah calling me.

An unrecognizable girl dressed in white started waving at me.

“Leah?” I called out in surprise. “Is that you?”

“Yes,” she answered, smiling and coming closer.

“Wow!” I said, wide-eyed, when she reached me. “You certainly cleaned up well!”

Leah looks so different from the girl I met in the dining room. She was still shy, but she was neatly dressed and had put on make-up.
