“I know you are awake.” A familiar yet unrecognizable voice sounded around.

Startled, I managed to force my eyes open, and my head snapped toward the sound of the voice, searching for the person the voice belonged to.

My breath hitched, and my throat ran dry, making it hard to breathe as my heart pounded in my chest.

“What the f*ck!” I managed to whisper under my breath.

“It’s not very polite of you to speak like that!” The voice whispered, and my gaze snapped toward the sound, seeing nobody close by.
