Colt’s POV
“Where is my lovely daughter hiding?” Alpha Duncan asked as he strode into my office. His presence filled the space instantly, his broad frame radiating authority. He looked refreshed, almost cheerful, not at all like a man preparing to oversee the execution of his beta. His sharp eyes flicked around the room, assessing every corner before landing on me.
My gut twisted. Do I tell him the truth? That we’d lost track of Kate? Or do I lie and pray he doesn’t see through me?
“Somewhere on the pack grounds,” Sam said smoothly, beating me to it. His voice was calm, confident, his posture relaxed. “She enjoys mingling with the pack members. She’ll make a remarkable Luna.”
