Catherine’s POV

“What are you doing in here?” I growled, being emotional, as I saw Sam and Grey moving around in Ellie’s nursery.

They were touching and smelling her personal things—her toys, her blankets, and even her crib.

“Looking for clues,” Colt said, lying against the wall with folded arms around his waist. He looked kind of bored, as if he had seen his brothers act like this a thousand times before.

Jimmy stood next to Colt, looking like a deer caught in headlights. He wasn’t sure what to do or say to me.

Who gave them permission?

Did he bring them in here?

“Clues for what?” I snapped, looking at Jimmy. “My father said…”

“We know it is a pack member,” Grey said, cutting me off.

“… and she used a rare kind of powder to hide her scent. It’s kind of interesting.” Sam continued with a smirk on his lips. He rubbed his thumb and fingers together, smelling it, before he lifted his gaze and looked at me.
