Chapter 130. Predictable Facts

Jessica stood stiffly, her eyes focused on the bus schedule plastered on the wall of the bus stop, even though she wasn’t actually reading it. Alice, on the other hand, was busy with her cell phone, her fingers typing messages rapidly.

“The bus is still long?” asked Alice, trying to break the silence.

Jessica gave her a quick glance. “In about fifteen minutes.”

“Oh,” Alice nodded. “That’s long enough.”

Silence fell over them again. Jessica bit her lower lip, her mind racing. She wanted to ask Alice a lot of things, about Harry, about their relationship, but she knew it was not her right.

Suddenly, Alice’s cell phone rang loudly, breaking the silence of the night. The name ‘Harry Waston’ appeared on the screen, making Jessica’s heart race.

Alice looked surprised, even panicked. Her hands trembled as she looked at her phone screen. Without thinking, she pressed the reject button, rejecting Harry’s call.

Jessica couldn’t hide her astonishment.
