Chapter 27. Wrong

Aria and Carla stared at Stephanie like she had lost her mind but the stubborn girl would not be stopped.

"Every once in a while," she began, "a couple of trucks are sent out to trade with other packs and settlements. In two days Beta will be sending out a group and that will be my chance to slip into one of the trucks, get out and find help."

"They would sense you before the trucks even move," Carla pointed out to her.

Stephanie's lips curled in a confident smile, her eyes glowing with excitement."I already thought about that. The healer Caroline is staying with works with herbs and she told her about a variant of aconite that dulls their senses and allows a person to stay hidden for as long as it lasts."

Aria took a seat beside her, her interest aroused by the progress she had made. "What are the chances of you getting it? Something like that, Beta must heavily regulate it."

Stephanie looked like she was about to explode into maniacal giggles, her smi
