It took me several days to track down the Blood Takers. They kept moving and seemed to travel in a pattern anyone would call confusing. They’re not travelling in a straight line. They’ve been turning left and right into different territories, keeping to the woods and out of sight.

I finally found them through sheer luck as I intercepted a message about one of the Blood Takers dying. Through that message, I found the campsite where they buried two bodies, a male vampire and a female shifter–without a head. The request for back-up works perfectly in my favor. Even with their initial suspicion, they let me into the group, and Lydia Nightstone is within my sight.

Lydia is skittish. She doesn’t trust any of the Blood Takers–with good reason. The message the Blood Takers sent involved something to do with an escape attempt and having to kill a female shifter. They want more money for the loss of their colleague and double the price for another fem
