Chapter 215. The Tell

The ballroom is a hellscape of color and noise. It feels like every high ranking vampire is here right now, everyone commingling and walking around the room with flutes of sparkling blood. I snatch a glass for myself off a tray being touted by a waiter and drain it quickly, letting the blood work into my system without so much as tasting it.
I can still taste Faye, though, and it’s killing me. My entire body is screaming to get back to her, to be with her, to claim her in other ways, and I can’t take it.
I’m out of control. This needs to end.
I spot my parents toward the back of the ballroom standing with my aunt and uncle, all four of them looking somewhat subdued, those fake, royal smiles plastered on their faces.
But someone blocks my progress toward them–toward my mother, who I desperately need to talk to about what I just did.
