Chapter 9

Ray’s POV

I didn’t see the man after that day. It was as if he disappeared like he only knows how to.

I checked the door, to be certain it was unlocked, before I walked over to my bed, and got the second knife I stole.

This time, I didn’t steal it from the tray of food, as they have stopped giving me food that requires cutting.

It just happened that I luckily saw the knife outside my door two days ago.

So, I took it.

I pocketed the knife and glanced around the room that have housed me for weeks.

Though I didn’t succeed in killing that man as I wanted, I know I can’t stay here forever.

Who knows, it might be easier to get to him out there than it will be for me to do it here.

There is no telling what he might do to me should I attempt stabbing him, a second time.

I walked out of the room and gently closed the door behind me.

There was no guard in sight, so it was easier for me to slip out.
