Chapter 16

Ray’s POV

Despite the strong hold he had on me, I tried to fight him off, but it was impossible.

“Let me go!” I tried to fight his hold off me, but it was too strong. It was as if I’m a child trying to fight off the father.

“I’m sorry, human, but I can’t let you go. Leaving you isn’t an option, so you will endure going with me.”

“I’m not going anywhere! Let me go!”

He carried me up despite my thrashing. It was as if I weigh nothing. And that seemed to piss me off some more. I was being held suspended above the ground, and I kicked furiously.

I know I won’t be able to get him to release me, but I have to try to get him to leave me.

If I can get him to let me go, then I can show him I’m capable of fighting off any man that tried to hurt me.

If I can lead a group of wild men, then I can fight him off.

My heel struck something behind me; there was a hard grunt from above my head before strong hands gripped my ankles and held t
