Ray’s POV

“Mistress!” One of the men knocked on my door, waking me up from a much-needed sleep.

It wasn’t every night that I had the pleasure of sleeping as I did just now.

“What is it?” I hastily rose from my bed and started getting dressed.

It has become a habit of mine, to always be ready, irrespective of the reason and time.

“The blood drainers are almost upon us.”

His words caused me to freeze.

“What did you just say?”

“The blood drainers are almost upon us.” He repeated. “Though they are far off, we need—”

“Wake the others! Get out weapons ready!” I instructed him. “I will meet you out there!”

“Yes, mistress.” The man left, and I heard him calling the others.

“He’s here.”

My heart seemed to lurch out of my chest at the thoughts of the man who wiped my clan.
