Chapter 54. Not Angry, Just Broken

Kade gave me a look that says, “I know what you’re doing, you fucking coward.” Or maybe that was just my imagination running wild, but I know the look on his face came close to that. 

“This is how it’s going to be, huh?” he asked and I felt the distance growing between us even though he was so close to me. “Fine. I was the fool for falling for you anyway.”

He grabbed my ass again, pulling my skirt up, and the AC from my office hit my bare legs, making me shiver. 

“This will be my punishment for being a damn fool.” He dragged my underwear down, exposing my ass and heat, but his eyes didn't move down like they always did, instead, they stayed fixed on me, letting me see everything, and the more I looked into his eyes, the more I could see the ice walls building. 

Soon, he would be back to being cold and closed off, and we would be back to square one.
