I stared at Axel, trying to decipher if he was joking, but there wasn’t a hint of a joke on his face. He was serious.
I was left speechless. Utterly speechless and I had nothing to say to that. So I looked away, focusing all my attention on the book I couldn’t see.
“So what career are you going for?” he asked, his eyes hot on my face, his finger tracing a circle on the table.
“I haven’t decided yet,” I answered without looking at him.
“Hmm. Want me to help you out?”
“Sure.”
He was silent for a while. “What are you most passionate about? What do you see yourself doing?”
I thought about it for a while, closing the book. “I don’t know. I’ve never thought of that till now.” A pause. “But I like art.”
“Art, hmm? Art has many forms, sweetheart. Mirror it down. What exactly do you like about art?”
