Chapter 15

Police patrol guard Anthony Stone sat behind the steering of the car, driving it slowly. His partner, Officer Diaz McGregor, sat beside him. Their job was simple, insultingly simple.

They were to drive around the area, looking out for anything suspicious and making sure that it was safe. Anthony and Diaz had been doing this job together for the past two years, and although neither of them ever took it seriously because nothing barely happened around here, the recent murders in the city had forced them to be more vigilant while on the job. Neither of them wanted to end up a victim.

Anthony was the younger one among the two of them. He was medium height with a small frame. His partner, however, was the exact opposite of him. Diaz was tall and huge, the kind of man that could easily intimidate a criminal if he ever went into a one-on-one fight with them.

He felt cramped in the car as it was too small to accommodate his huge frame, but there was nothing he could do abo
