Chapter 33

Mayor Oliver Hamilton stared blankly out of the open window pane before him. The linen curtains were held on either side of the corners of the room by ropes, giving him an open view of the wide expanse of land that lay beyond the walls of his penthouse mansion.

It had been over three weeks since Tim’s death, and the police were nowhere close to finding out what had happened to him or who killed him. But he knew the truth, and the truth scared him. From the moment he’d taken a look at his body at the morgue, Mayor Hamilton knew the truth.

Somehow, somebody was setting him up to be overthrown in the pack. It could be anybody. However, his suspicions were more directed at a particular character than the other members of the pack.

Who was the boy? He wondered. How had he become a Supreme Alpha out of nowhere? Was he ever going to become a threat to him? And did he have anything to do with his son’s death? These and a thousand other questions raced through his mind.
