Chapter 28

My father comforted me by wrapping his arms around my arm. I believe he sensed my anxiety. I really didn't want to trip or muddle what I was saying. There was one thing that kept me going. Matias. He was at the far end of the corridor. He was expecting me. That was the only thing that kept me going.

My father and I started down the aisle. The ballroom was enormous. There were at least 500 persons present. Each of the packs has a representative. At that point, I looked around the room, and the fragrance hit me. Everything had a vanilla and rose scent to it. Flowers hung from the walls, with light pink streamers strung between them. It was stunning. All of the seats were wrapped in white sheets with a light pink bow. This was breathtaking.
