Chapter 4

Vera felt dizzy and had to hold a tree trunk for some minutes. Sarah didn't notice this and continued walking, humming a song. Soon, she realized Vera wasn't behind her and turned back. Breaking into a semi-run, she reached Vera in a swift and held her. Vera's heart was beating fast. Faster than normal. Sarah lifted Vera’s left eyebrow with her index finger. She found out that her eyeballs had not changed in color. That meant she was safe there.

Patting her gently at the back, Sarah urged her to sit on the trunk instead of just standing. Vera began to resist, so Sarah shoved her gently into submission.
