Chapter 12. Blood, Tears, and Sacrifice
Alain couldn’t bear to watch Sheila’s body.
It was reeking of blood and weakness, tears and hopelessness. Her body was broken. Her skin was a sea of scars both fresh and old. Laying on the ground lifeless, Alain wept over her dead body, over the woman who was only able to come in the borders of the Shadow Rose Pack for the first and last time.
As if Alain was only meant to touch and see her for a minute then she was gone in a heartbeat.
“Alpha…” But Alain didn’t dare to look at behind him, to the Beta who bears a message so crucial. “Alpha—“
“Go away!” Nothing can beat a man so woeful than a cry so sorrowful.
“The Fire Moon Pack’s banished…they are here now and—”
“Can’t you see I’m mourning early in the morning?!”
“But Alpha Alain—”
“I have no time for business now. Go, while you can.” Alain finally turned his head and a piercing glare made the Beta shiver for a second.
“Yes, Alpha.”
