Chapter 41. Witches and Wolves

“Did darkness attack her?” Beta asked, his face expressing profound intrigue. “What were they seeking when they approached her?”

“They said the Hybrid's powers were theirs!” Alpha replied with a harsh tone.

“The Lord claimed that the legendary witch was present... Could the magic conjured by the twins' mother have originated from the darkness?” Oliver scratched his disheveled hair, wearing worn-out jeans and limping due to recent wounds caused by torture.

“That would explain why darkness desires Sophie; if her mother used dark magic during the conjuration and was pregnant, evil may be claiming its price!” A growl escaped from King Lycan's lips, his hands clenching.

“Why would a mother do that? Offer her daughters as a sacrifice!” Beta was intrigued, eager to understand the theory behind his king's words.

“To pursue a love with the Alpha...” Alpha shrugged dismissively. “What a beautiful, romantic legend!”
