“And for you, it's not important either, is it?” I raised an eyebrow, feeling a little upset.

“Every day with you is important!” He poked my nose, going over to pick up the little one. “You are quite the troublemaker.”

I laughed, enjoying the scene.

We continued with a peaceful dinner, and after the birthday wishes, one of the servants took Conan and carried him to his rest area. Harvey requested a bottle of wine from one of his finest vintages. We sat comfortably in the living room.

“This wine is truly delicious,” I commented.

“Not as much as you!” the Alpha teased.

“Not more than, what was her name?” I pretended to think as I put my hand to my chin. “Suellen…”

He laughed at my performance.

“Much more, my hybrid!” Raising the glass in my direction, he toasted. “Are you ready for the test tomorrow?”

“Actually, no. But I'll do everything to stay here and be with Conan!” I gripped the glass with determination.
