Chapter 26. Bad Timing

I take a long look at the man in front of me. He’s not a vampire that I’ve ever had dealings with before, but I’m not surprised. I heard a bit of his story, and it seems he was locked away somewhere for a while. Whatever the reason, I never came across him before is irrelevant. He’s come along at the right time. “I need my magic back.”

His eyes don’t waver from me, and I wish I could tell what he’s thinking right now. I’m currently magicless, thanks to that bitch high priestess.
