There’s no response other than a sharp intake of breath. I meant what I said. I’m going to be out of town, nowhere near here. Why the hell would I consent to her going out without me? What if some man tries to hit on what’s mine? There’s just no way. “Did… did you say no?” There’s a tone in her voice that I just don’t like. I sigh internally, trying to pick my words wisely.

Don’t sugarcoat shit for her. She doesn’t need to be out without us.

We need to pull her in, not push her away. Perhaps we can tone it down a bit at first, and then we can hit her with it.

Don’t placate her. Just lay down the law. My wolf makes a good point, but I know I need to finesse the situation. If I don’t do that, it will blow up in my face. I can’t afford for that to ha
