Chapter 223. Unwind Our Minds

Because of all the crying, I didn’t realize that I had fallen asleep at my desk. I even ended up resting on Kara’s diaries, which I had just finished reading.
When I lifted my head from being slumped over my desk, that’s when I felt the pain in my shoulders and back. So, as I stood up, I stretched, and as I did, I noticed that Asher was still asleep, wrapped tightly in a blanket because of the cold. I checked his diary from our first life, the one he didn’t finish reading last night, and it seemed like he had completed it because the random receipt I had placed as a bookmark was gone.
Even though Asher’s eyes were closed, I could see that they were swollen from crying. His eyelids were puffy and slightly red, though that might have been due to the cold.
I checked the camera and saw that it was turned off. I didn’t check if the battery was low, but just in case we decided to use it later, I plugged it in to charge.
