Chapter 278. Sudden Wave of New Memories

“Drive safely…” I waved goodbye to Tate with a big smile as he got into the driver’s seat of his Jeep Wrangler. He gave me a quick wave back, grinning as he mouthed, “Commute safely!”
I watched his Wrangler pull away, my gaze following the taillights until they disappeared into the distance. Once he was out of sight, I turned and walked toward the bus stop. There wasn’t a bus in sight, so I sat down on the bench and pulled out my phone.
I figured I might as well reply to all the New Year’s greetings from friends, relatives, and acquaintances on Messenger. I knew I had to send my greetings now—otherwise, by the time I got home, I’d probably pass out and forget again. Then Sarah and Paige would sulk at me, as they always did.
Lee had already greeted them earlier today, so if I slipped up, those two would only be mad at me. And if that happened, I’d have no one to back me up or help me make peace.
