Chapter 345. Injured

“You know what I hate the most?” I arched a brow at him, my gaze sharp. “People who don’t even realize what they did wrong.” I rolled my eyes for emphasis, making sure he got the message.
And because I didn’t want to talk to him or explain why I was so irritated and annoyed, I opened the door of his Jeep Wrangler and stepped out without another word. I started walking away, determined to leave him behind. I remembered there was a bus terminal nearby that had buses passing by Parkertown General Hospital.
My plan was simple—catch one of those buses, head back to work, and make up some excuse for my absence. Something like, “I had an upset stomach earlier, but I’m feeling a bit better now.” Yeah, that would do.
“Where are you going?” I heard Tate call out, his voice loud and insistent.
The slam of his Jeep door followed immediately after, and soon enough, I could hear the heavy thud of his leather shoes against the pavement as he ran to catch
