“Paige!” Sarah exclaimed, scratching her head hard in frustration, her foot stomping on the floor as Paige snatched her phone. “Give it back! Give me my phone! You have your own phone—why are you grabbing someone else’s?!” Her voice rose, sharp with irritation, forcing Paige to clamp her hand over Sarah’s mouth to quiet her down.
Meanwhile, convincing Lee that her phone was missing had been surprisingly easy. She sat there, clutching her head with both hands as if bracing herself against the dizziness that threatened to topple her over.
