Chapter 44. The Valedictorians

“Thank you, Stanford High. Thank you for the memorable six years of high school life…”
After Sarah finished speaking, she stepped down from the podium while we all applauded her. She then bowed to the principal, guidance counselor, and president of Stanford High, who were seated on the stage.
Sarah’s speech focused on her academic and school struggles and how grateful she was to her friends and family for their support. There was even a part of the speech where she jokingly addressed all her ‘boy’ problems. Because she was known for being the ‘bad girl with brains,’ almost everyone laughed at that. She even mentioned some names of the guys who graduated with us, and they proudly stood up when mentioned, causing all of us to burst into laughter.
Before Sarah’s speech, Paige spoke first. While Sarah’s speech had many laughing due to her random jokes, Paige’s speech made her friends cry. I wasn’t sure if anyone else cried who wasn’t close to Paige b
