Rafaela sat on the couch as Arthur continued pacing back and forth. “I can’t do this to Rebecca. She doesn’t deserve it,” he said.
“I didn’t tell you this hoping you would drop everything to be with me. But I needed to tell you. I loved you. I love you. I’ve never desired anyone in the world like I desire you.”

“What’s up?” Sofia answered the phone groggily.
“For God’s sake, Sofia, it’s 4:00 in the afternoon.”
“I just finished a three-day heat with an omega; I’m exhausted. I shouldn’t even be answering the phone.”
