Shane’s POV

I strolled back home all alone, the weight of Yana’s departure lingering in my thoughts. She had revealed to me that she was headed to meet Matthew, and now I found myself fixated on the possible locations where he could be waiting for her. My mind raced, trying to uncover the secret place where they might rendezvous.

As I entered the house, CJ immediately noticed my solitude and inquired about Yana’s whereabouts. Concern etched in his voice, he asked, "Why are you alone? Where is Yana?"

Attempting to deflect his suspicions, I replied, "Oh, hi CJ. Um… I am sorry, but I actually don’t know. I thought she would have arrived before me."

Confusion marred CJ’s face as he countered, "What do you mean? You two were together the last time I saw you before I left school."
