Chapter 57. Despair

As Roxanne slowly regained consciousness, her groggy mind struggled to make sense of her surroundings.

The room, as previous, was dimly lit, providing her newly opened eyes with as little light as possible and the air around her felt heavy with an unsettling tension.

Panic began to stir within her as she remembered what she had attempted a while ago and how after everything, it had failed and she ended up with the clutches of the very devils she so desperately wanted to run away from.

As the fog lifted from her mind, she tried to sit up, only to find her limbs bound and secured to the bedpost, this time more than it previously was.

The examined the chains on her hand- nothing new- and then came the development that had happened when she was asleep, a new set of chains around both her ankles.
